1 John 5:19 (NIV): “We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.”
What is Spiritual Darkness? And what is the light?
This Religion. Our faith.
Is it about doing right or wrong? Heaven and hell? What do we mean when we say “Thy light is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”. Let us start from the beginning. Follow closely.
Your life begins when you are born, just like your parents were. And you grow up slowly, learn and experience life. Eventually you get old enough to get a degree, get a job and get your own children. You are now in the position your parents were. You work hard, have some fun in life, grow old and die. Your children will follow the same path. That path is called the cycle of death and rebirth. Hold on to that idea.
Jesus Christ in John 3:16, says that “… so that all who believe shall have eternal life…” Eternal life means live and never die. A long-lasting life in another realm, a perfect realm(otherwise called heaven). Basically a break from the cycle of death and rebirth.
So… where does spiritual darkness come in? Being in darkness is not realising that the life we live now is only temporary. That there are much greater joys, and beauties for us to see. Great mansions, and rivers of crystal, and gates of pearl. Really just beautiful manifestations. Spiritual darkness is:
- Imagining that life on the damned earth is all there is. (Living for now – YOLO)
- Loving the things of this world, more than the things of eternity. (You place your hope in money, land, cars, investments etc.)
- Not opening your eyes and heart to learn about eternal wisdom.(Last time you read your Bible was a week ago)
In contrast, what is the light?
Light casts a beam into the darkness. Cuts through all illusions and shadows to make everything clear. The light, is the Bible, the Bhagavad, the Kybalion, the Quran. The light makes the truth clear. What then is truth:
- You have a divine nature inside you – from your creation and thro’ the son of God.
- There is an evil one who we fight against, who fights us to never find this divine nature.
- The divine nature inside you is dormant, until you awaken it. You are not weak. Jesus throughout his gospels speaks of how powerful we can become if we have faith! We are soldiers of God.
We seek the light that we may overcome the cycle of death and rebirth, and shine that same light before men.
Enlightenment – is seeking the light of God and having it dwell inside you.
The steps are simple:
- Read your Bible deeply
- Believe in your divine nature(faith)
- Die to sin! (by hiding the Bible’s words in your heart)! You will find light and peace and life.
Seek the light. Refuse to remain in darkness. And find your divine self thro’ Jesus Christ. God be with you till we meet again.
Matthew 7:13-14: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
